Do you need a reason to drive a Porsche every day?

Maybe not. But if you do, there are about 500 reasons to at the new site I just finished.

Here's the link:

http://www.porscheeveryday.com

Note to all those thinking about building a site around 500 pieces of content: talk to me first. I just might give you 500 reasons not to, starting with marriage and sanity preservation.

But, I'm pretty proud of it. Visit it, share it, enjoy it. Thanks.

Good work, nice site. But don't you have to be a rich, insensitive, greedy, self-absorbed, environment destroying, Halliburton, Wall Street, money grubbing, inherited it all, wealthy, Halliburton, Cheney Republican to drive a Porsche? I mean we know the good people only drive Volts, the car of the Proletariat.

My fearless (but ultimately accurate) iPad prediction
I played around with it today. It’ll be a success. But not an iPhone or iPod-level success.

Two reasons. One, people won’t want to carry around another device. They already carry around a phone and a laptop.

And two, it won’t replace the laptop because typing on is still iPhone-terrible. And people do still type.

(And I was right about Obama being brilliant, too)

Wait for the MacBook with iPad-like touch-screen functionality, people. It’s coming.

The Bracket - the final showdown. This bracket is more accurate than Karnak or David Copperfield?

My first commercial for the upcoming campaign. Hopefully this marketing strategy will pay off.

You have a social conscience. Why no commentary not the fact that our current President is sacrificing young Americans for Libyan oil. And he is lobbing missiles into populated areas which are killing thousands of innocent civilians. Did you stop caring about such things when he got elected? Do you not really care about the things you claim to care about - you just use fashionable grandstanding political posturing to maintain friendships with like-acting hypocrites. Turns out you don't mind America going to war. No debate, just dead Arabs. My it must be nice to have so much flexibility in your principles.

Looks like the nut patrol is back with inane off-the-subject political commentary.

(yawn)

The Porsche site is very cool and an amazing achievement. You should be very proud of this work. I will send word of your success to the corporate offices of Uncle Julio's. There could be a promotion in it for you!

I raise a margarita to you, Gary. Great work!

Yes - the nuts are definitely here. My guess is that Sarah Palin made them do it. Or Glenn Beck. Or whoever. I don't know.

Since Gary likes to engage in superficial and inane political commentary when it suits his fancy, and much of it is hateful and devoid of thought, he should not complain too much when readers of this site respond with their own political input. It would actually benefit Gary to read some alternative views, since he lacks depth. This is all an effort to help him mature, so he makes better decisions in the future. It's for the children.

I agree with B. Dhorn-- Gary is Satan!

He should read "Highlighter" Magazine and "Tea Party Digest."

Presidential and Political Baloney
economy, Favorites, Government, Insolvency
Apr 14 2011
Clarence Darrow was surprised by the incompetence of Presidents and stated:

When I was a boy I was told that anybody could become President. Now I’m beginning to believe it.

Mr. Darrow, were he still alive, would not believe yesterday’s performance by the empty-suit of a man occupying the White House. Darrow, had he been listening to yesterday’s speech, would likely not have survived it.

The US, on the verge of an economic collapse and bankruptcy, has little time left for political games. Yet that was all Obama offered in what was little more than a campaign speech. He did not address pressing problems.

Only two months ago Mr. Obama submitted a budget that he claimed was just what the country needed. He completely ignored the recommendations of the Bowles-Simpson Commission that he had tasked to come up with specifics cuts. His submitted budget actually increased spending. According to the Washington Times, his appointees who had studied the problem were not impressed:

Now Obama has abandoned his prior budget and offered something else. “Something else” is as good a description as we have at this point because he offered few specifics and no framework for implementation of nebulous goals. The large amounts of time and funds invested in the Bowles-Simpson Commission were ignored once again.

The Wall Street Journal opined:

Mr. Obama did not deign to propose an alternative to rival Mr. Ryan’s plan, even as he categorically rejected all its reform ideas, repeatedly vilifying them as essentially un-American. “Their vision is less about reducing the deficit than it is about changing the basic social compact in America,” he said, supposedly pitting “children with autism or Down’s syndrome” against “every millionaire and billionaire in our society.” The President was not attempting to join the debate Mr. Ryan has started, but to close it off just as it begins and banish House GOP ideas to political Siberia.

Mr. Obama then packaged his poison in the rhetoric of bipartisanship—which “starts,” he said, “by being honest about what’s causing our deficit.” The speech he chose to deliver was dishonest even by modern political standards.

The fact is that we need to make serious cuts and do them now. The survival of the economy and perhaps the country depend on it. These cuts are going to have to be measured in the tens of Trillions over a ten-year period. This is no time for an inexperienced community organizer to be “leading.”

The leader of the free world is incompetent. He is a low-level minor leaguer, a street-hustler dressed in fine clothes, who is over his head in the major leagues. He is a paper-machete figure with a commanding voice and the ability to read a teleprompter. Beyond this, there is nothing there. If the economic crisis is to be solved before it swallows the country, Congress must step up. That is not a very comforting thought based on their role in creating the problems.

Unfortunately the fecklessness and duplicity of the political class goes well beyond Obama. Both Democrats and Republicans are to blame. Nothing demonstrates this better than the recently released scoring of the budget deal. It was presented as a “hard-fought” agreement to cut $38 Billion of spending just last week. That number was woefully low in terms of what needed to be done. Now we learn that sum was virtually all smoke and mirrors. The CBO Says Budget Deal Will Cut Spending by Only $352 Million.

Republicans were congratulating themselves for a fine performance. Yet the deal, according to the CBO, was over 99% baloney and less than 1% real! Are Republicans as incompetent as Obama or are they just as big a part of  fleecing taxpayers as their counterparts?

How do you like my New War in Libya? Now that is how a war should be done. Not like Bush's lame wars. I just wish Muommar would stop fighting. I hate to have to kill innocent civilians every day. And it does cost a lot. But we will win this war, for the "rebels", whoever they are.
